Birthlight Pregnancy yoga is an adaptation of traditional yoga practices that are safe and best meet the needs of a pregnant women’s changing body. It was developed by Dr Francoise Barbira Freedman.

In addition to the yoga poses we learn breathing techniques to expand women’s breathing capacity in gentle and effective ways that carry through to labour. Also learn pelvic floor exercises, and relaxation techniques

These classes gives great tools to the expecting mums to prepare themselves for the pregnancy, the birth and the postpartum period in a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual way. Also a great way to meet other mums to share the joys and fears, and make friends, sometimes for life.

Birth preparation class

When a Baby comes to this world, a Mother and a Father are also born.
In this small group session we are preparing together for the last few weeks of the pregnancy and for The Big Day – the birth, and the first weeks with the newborn.

We will talk about perineal massage, pelvic floor exercises, and I will show you how to perform a pregnancy massage. We will also go through the physiology of the birth, and learn breathing techniques and massage techniques and the use of aromatherapy to help manage labor pain, and will discuss the different positions during labor.

We will talk about how the support person can help during labor and delivery.
And give advise how to deal with the physical and emotional sides of the postpartum period
for the new mum but also for the new dad.

The Mum and Baby Yoga is also a part of the Birthlight system.

The massage and the gentle exercises including holds, stretching, singing and rhymes, game playing for the baby helps their development physically and mentally, and a wonderful way to strengthen bonding between mum and baby.

Classes include appropriate exercises for the new mum to help postpartum recovery, will also practice breathing techniques, pelvic floor exercises and relaxation techniques. Since it is a class that solely geared for new parents and their babies, it gives you the best opportunity to meet other newly mummies, share all experiences, feel understood and make lifelong friendships.
